Uche George Okugo is a dynamic Social Entrepreneur, Economic Developer, and Community Leader committed to empowering individuals and organizations. He is the Founder and President of the Network of Nigerians in Canada (NNC), a non-profit promoting diversity, inclusion, cultural heritage and professional networking opportunities through initiatives like NaijaFest, Youth in STEAM, seminars/workshops and Career Summits.
He serves on the Brampton Mayor’s Black Advisory Council, is a former President of both the City of Brampton Toastmasters and the Rotary Club of Brampton, and is a Director at the Nigeria Immigrant Welcome Center.
A John Maxwell Leadership Speaker, Uche has spoken at institutions and events across Canada, Kenya, and Nigeria, including Algoma University, Nigerian Canadian Business Network Ottawa, Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba, Rotary Club of Nairobi Langata and National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria.
His academic background includes Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Leadership, Financial Trading, and Economic Development. Professionally, he works in Innovation and Technology at the City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office, having led the Africa and Caribbean Markets Desk of the City’s Investment Attraction Department.
